Volleyball season ends with district loss

The Oran High School volleyball team saw it's season come to a close last night with a 3 set loss to Risco during the first round of district play at Bell City.

The Eagles fell 19-25, 25-15 and 19-25 to the third-seeded Tigers.  The sixth-seeded Eagles ended the season with a 10-14-2 mark.  It was the most wins in recent memory.  It also included a SEMO South regular season championship with a 4-0 record and a conference pool play first place finish, going 7-1.

They had lost to Risco, during the regular season, in straight sets at home.

Oran graduates 2 seniors, Brianna Stause and Megan Tenkhoff.

Coach Larry Boshell said this, “I am so proud of this team, they never quit and played with passion last night, but we just came up short.  It is tough when the season ends, especially after working since the first part of June with open gyms and summer games, especially for the seniors, but hopefully they take away a few good memories.  I would like to wish Brianna and Megan all the best and appreciate the effort they gave each and every night."
