The Oran High School boys basketball team came up on the short end of a 54-37 score last night when the traveled to Fruitland to take on the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders.
The Eagles kept it close early, trailing only 10-7 after quarter number one. But, the deficit was 8 by halftime and continued to grow to the final margin of 17.
Jacob Shoemaker led Oran with 14 points, he hit 2 from beyond the arc and was 4 of 4 from the line. Max Priggel had 11. He also hit 2 treys.
Layne Johnson added 5 points. Cole Priggel hit all 4 of his free throw attempts. William Kluesner hit 2 of 2 from the line and Luke Barnes added a free-throw.
Wyatt Kinney, Drew Reischman, Denver Elfrink, Peyton McVay and Joey Phillips played but did not score.
The Eagles were 15 of 19 from the charity stripe for 79%.
With the loss, Oran falls to 6-6 and will back in action on Tuesday when they host conference foe Kelly.
The junior varsity also lost their contest, no other details were available. The junior Eagles are now 2-6.
