What's happenin' (1/30-2/3)

As we head into February, the Oran High School basketball teams only have a handful of games left.

The boys varsity enters the week with a record of 11-7 and 4-1. They have 6 games remaining.  The jayvee is 4-7 and 3-1 and have only 5 left.

The girls varsity is 17-2 and 4-0 with 6 left, while the junior varsity is 6-1 and 2-1 and have only 4 to go.

The boys open the week with a rare Monday night game.  The Eagles will host the 11-6 Woodland Cardinals for Senior Night.  Senior basketball players Luke Barnes, Wyatt Kinney and Max Priggel along the pep band's Dillon Holmes and cheerleaders Abby Essner, Brenna Hahn and Megan Tenkhoff will be honored in a ceremony prior to the start of the varsity contest.

The boys will be back in action on Tuesday.  The will travel to take on conference and district rival Chaffee.  The Red Devils are currently 3-15 and 0-4.

The girls will only play once this week and that is on Thursday when the varsity will travel back down to Charleston for a conference affair.  The Blue Jays are 10-4 and 3-0 coming into this week and they host Kelly on Monday.  The winner of Thursday's  game will, more than likely, be crowned the regular season conference champions.

On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday the games all start at 6 pm.

Friday is Homecoming and game time is 7 pm.  The Eagles will host the Bell City Cubs in a varsity only contest.  The Cubs are 9-9 as of today.  They play at Bloomfield on Tuesday.

The candidates are:
Freshman-Kaylee Payne and Landon Stanberry
Sophomore-Jessie Long  and Calen Read
Junior-Ali Holt and Cole Priggel
Senior-Brianna Stause and Luke Barnes
