The Oran Junior High School girls basketball teams picked up two more wins last night, defeating visiting conference foe East Prairie 36-21 in the seventh-grade game and 46-16 in the eighth-grade contest.
Coach Ethan Evans said, "The seventh-grade game was sloppy, especially the 1st half. Fortunately, we played good enough defense to have the lead. We played much better in the 3rd quarter to pull out the victory."
Addie Nichols scored 12 to lead the team that is now 3-0 in both the conference and overall.
Grace Davis added eight, Hallie Nichols added five while Bralynn Morgan chipped in four. Laney Shy, Emma Priggel and Maddie Stickel each had a field goal.
The team was 2 of 5 from the line for 40%.
Coach Evans commented that the eight-grade, "Played very well both offensively and defensively. We got after them in the press and got some easy baskets. Overall it was the best game the girls have played all year."
Hope Woodfin led the older team with 18 points, Davis was right behind with 16.
Rylee Boshell added seven, Priggel had four and Hallie Nichols made a free throw.
The team made seven of 18 free throws for 39%.
They are now 4-0 in the Scott-Miss and 5-0 in all games.
The Eagles will be back in action this evening at 6 pm when they host the Woodland Cardinals.
