Junior High girls wallop Wildcats

The junior high girls basketball team continued its winning ways last night with a convincing 36-5 victory over the second year Bloomfield program.  There was only one game.

Coach Evans said, "We controlled the game fairly well from the onset. Our defense and pressure set the tone and we did enough offensively to get the job done. Overall it was a nice effort on both sides of the ball."

The Eagles jumped out to a 12-3 first quarter lead and then threw shutouts the next two periods to take a 34-3 margin into the final frame.

Grace Davis was tops in the scoring column with 10.

Hope Woodfin hit for seven, including a three-pointer.  Hannah Boshell scored six.  Liza Dannenmueller and Bralynn Morgan had four apiece.  Rylee Boshell hit a trey to account for her points and Maddie Stickel added a field goal.

Oran did not attempt any free throws.

They are now 7-0.  They will host Scott County Central this evening at 6 in the high school gym. The girls will play a game and a half this evening.  The two-quarter seventh-grade game will be followed by a full eighth-grade game.
