The Oran junior high school girls basketball teams picked up their second straight conference wins to open the 2017 season.
On Thursday, the seventh grade posted a 33-23 win at Scott City, while the eighth grade prevailed 46-38.
During the opener, the Eagles opened a 17-9 halftime lead.
Coach Evans said, "The seventh grade played tough defense from the start and made free throws early to take down a very good Scott City team. We shared the ball and pushed the tempo to come out on top with the victory."
Addie Nichols tossed in 14 points, Grace Davis added 10.
Maddie Stickel had four. Hallie Nichols and Emma Priggel had two apiece. Bralynn Morgan chipped in a single tally.
The eighth-grade trailed 19-13 at the half before a 19-8 third quarter propelled the Eagles on to victory.
Evans said, "We missed way too many easy shots in the first half but came out on fire after halftime to win this one. We finally were able to concentrate and make layups during our 3rd quarter run."
Davis led all scorers with 28. Priggel had eight, Hope Woodfin added six. Rylee Boshell and Stickel had a bucket apiece.
