What's happenin' (9/18-9/22)

(game summaries from Thursday and Saturday will be posted a little later this morning)

Another full week of Oran Eagle athletics on the calendar.   The volleyball and junior high girls basketball teams' have multiple games scheduled. Volleyball (2-5, 6-7-1) play twice while the junior high (2-0, 2-0) have four games in five nights.  All games this week start at 6 pm.

Volleyball will be at home this evening when they host the Zalma Bulldogs (6-10-2).  Last year the Bulldogs swept both matches in straight sets.

Also this evening, the basketball team will bus up to Meadow Heights to take on the Panthers.  It will be a short stay as Meadow Heights will have only one team.  The Eagles won last fall.

Both teams also play on Tuesday.  Volleyball will host a 6-8-2 Sikeston squad.  During the regular season, both squads lost in straight sets.  During the conference tournament, the varsity lost in three.

Basketball will travel to conference foe Charleston.  The teams split last year.  The seventh grade won.

Wednesday will be a chance to rest and catch up on school work.

Basketball hits the floor again on Thursday for another conference match-up.  The junior high girls will host East Prairie to take on the Mississippi County Eagles.  Oran split last year at home, with the seventh grade picking up the win.

The week closes out at home for the basketball team.  They will take on the Woodland Cardinals.  The Eagles won both last year.
