Junior high girls lose on the road

The Oran Junior High School girls volleyball teams dropped their opening matches of the season last night at Scott City.  The seventh-grade fell 14-25 and 3-25.  The eighth-grade lost 14-25 and 9-25.

In the opening contest, Braylyn Morgan had an ace and a kill.  Hallie Nichols had a pair of aces and Carly Gloth and Molly Spane had an ace apiece.

Coach Amy Wibbenmeyer said, "We started off strong.  Then they came back and outplayed us. You could tell it was our first game and we were nervous."

During the nightcap, Hannah Boshell had two aces, Grace Davis had two kills and Laney Shy added a dig.

Coach Wibbenmeyer said, "We had some good plays but we also had moments where we [had] practiced certain things and you could not see that out there on the court."

The teams will hit the floor again tonight in their home openers.  They will host Cape Central beginning at 6 pm.
