What's happenin' (3/19-3/24)

Oran High School athletes and fans have a very busy week ahead as junior high volleyball, high school track and field, softball and baseball are all in action this week.

On Monday, track & field and softball make their 2018 debuts.  Track will participate in an open meet at Chaffee.  The starter's gun will sound at 4 pm.  The softball team travels to Scott City to take on their district rivals, the Rams.  First pitch is slated for 4:30.  Scott City has ended the Lady Eagles' season that last two years in the district finals.

The Junior Beta Club will have the grill cooking burgers and dogs at select games at the ball fields this season.  The first is when baseball hosts Bloomfield at 4:30 on Tuesday.  Also that evening, the junior high volleyballers will host Charleston with the first serve scheduled for 6 pm.

On Wednesday, the junior high volleyball teams will travel to Jackson for a 5:30 start.

Thursday has track and field traveling to East Prairie for a 4 pm start.  Softball goes to Advance and starts at 4:30.  The junior high volleyball squads will make the trek to Meadow Heights.  They start at 6.

Softball will be back in action on Friday at 4 pm when they host the Bloomfield Wildcats.

The Eagle baseball team will host a round robin on Saturday.  Oran will play Dexter at 10am and then face Valle Catholic at a game scheduled for 2 pm.  But usually, the last game of the day starts late.   Saturday will be a "grill day" also.
