Eagles blast Bluejays

On Tuesday evening, the Oran Junior High School girls basketball team hosted the Charleston Bluejays.  Only one game was played due to the visitors' roster numbers.  Oran won 62-5.

It was 25-0 after one and 38-2 at the intermission.  Charleston hit it's first field goal with just over 1:30 remaining in the half.  The Lady Eagles continued to add to the margin despite liberally playing its bench.

Coach Ethan Evans said, "Our defensive effort was really stout once again. The girls also hit the offensive boards extremely hard."

Grace Davis led the way with 22, 12 of those coming in the first period, despite limited playing time.  Emma Priggel had 11.

Addie Nichols scored eight.  Maddie Stickel had four.  Sophie Bryeans, Liz Dannennmueller and Lilly Knotts had two apiece.

The girls were four of six from the line for 67%.  They improved to 3-0 in the Scott-Miss and 4-0 overall.  They will be back in action this evening when they travel to East Prairie for a conference matchup that begins at 6 pm.
