Next week starts early for Oran High School Athletics as we head into the Christmas break.
The varsity girls begins play tomorrow (Sunday) in the First State Community Bank Holiday Classic Girls Tournament at the Show Me Center at 5 pm when the second-seeded Eagles (5-1) take on the seventh-seeded Meadow Heights Panthers, who come in with a 2-3 and finished third in the recently completed Bloomfield Invitational Tournament. You can see the bracket HERE. Of note, Leah Cauble is 34 points away from reaching 3,000 in her career.
On Monday, the Lady Eagles will continue play.
The boys (2-0, 6-1) will host Delta (2-0, 6-1) at 6 pm.
The girls tournament finals will be on Wednesday.
After Wednesday, the calendar is empty until the day after Christmas when the Semissourian Tournament begins.
