Payne reaches plateau and Eagles beat Bravettes

The Oran High School girls varsity basketball team traveled to Scott County Central on Tuesday evening and won 69-52.

The Eagles led by only four 32-28 at the break.  Oran won the second half 37-24 to pick up the 17 point victory.

On their way to the victory, Kaylee Payne picked up her 1,000 career point. 

Katie Webb led all scorers and recorded her second double-double in as many games with 26 points and 16 rebounds.  Payne scored 17 and now sits with 1,002 total points.  Payne added a trey and seven assists. Heather Gosche contributed 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Hope Woodfin hit a three-pointer as part of her six points.  Taylor Lowes scored five and hit a trey.  Traci Hency made a "three" for her scoring.

They were 25 of 48 from inside the arc for 52%.  They were 4 of 19 from beyond for 21%.  At the free throw line, they hit 7-9 for 78 percent.

They are now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference.

They will be off until Monday, December 9th when they begin defense of their four-straight titles of the Chaffee Lady Devils Invitational.  The top-seeded Lady Eagles will take on the 8th-seed Puxico Lady Indians at 5 pm.
