The Oran High School boys basketball teams hit the road last night to East Prairie and the boys pick up two more wins against conference opponents.
The junior varsity won, 54-35 and the varsity prevailed 85-58.
In the opener, Camdyn Triblett led all scorers with 20 points and he hit two from beyond the arc.
Nick Romas had nine points and Seth Cauble had seven. Diesel Cato had six. Kolton Payne added five, Chris Collins had three and Parker Diebold and Samuel Shoemaker had two apiece.
They were 14-20 from the line for 70%.
Coach Joe Bickings said, "Early on we didn't shoot the ball well and we were standing on offense again and we were down 10-11 after the 1st quarter. We finally started to move in the 2nd quarter and were able to outscore them 18-2 to give ourselves a 15 pt lead. We didn't come out ready to play after halftime as they scored a few baskets in a row. We just need to make sure we come out ready to play and move on offense and talk on defense. Putting together a whole game is our goal right now."
The jayvee is now 2-0 in conference and 5-0 overall and will be back in action tonight at 6:15 in the Advance JV tourney where they will face the same team.
When asked about playing East Prairie again, Coach Bickings said,"It will be tough to play them again on back to back nights. Both teams know one another's personnel better. We will see if we learned anything from last nights' game and make the necessary adjustments."
In the nightcap, Oran trailed 5-4 early but led 29-19 after the first and 42-35 at the break. Oran won the third quarter 24-14 and the fourth 19-9 to claim the 27 point win.
Tyson Goodale led all scorers with 36 points. He hit one from beyond the three-point line. Todd Priggel had 16. Langdon Scheeter had 12 and two from beyond. Ty Johnson was the fourth Oran Eagle in double-digits and he also had two treys. He finished with 11. Priggel finished with a triple-double as he added 11 rebounds and 15 assists to go along with his 16 points.
Cooper Priggel had eight points and two threes. Samuel Shoemaker rounded out the scoring with a field goal.
They were 12 of 18 from the free throw line for 67%. they made 26 of 43 from inside the arc for 60.5%. from beyond the arch they were 7 of 16 for 43.8%.
They outrebounded their hosts 28-24 and forced 31 turnovers while committing 20 of their own.
Coach Joe Shoemaker said, "The boys played with more effort than we did last Friday and it showed in the results. Tyson had another big game scoring for us and did a good job of finishing. I thought we moved the ball well especially when they were trapping. It is always nice to get a conference win on the road."
The varsity is 2-0 and 6-0 and they are off until the day after Christmas when they will face Meadow Heights at 4:30pm at the Show Me Center.
