Running on empty, boys are able to hang on for win over Scott City

Oran trailed most of the first quarter but managed a slim 13-12 lead after one, they pushed it to seven, 33-26 at the break, It was down to six, 46-40 heading into the final eight minutes and Oran escaped with the five-point win.

Tyson Goodale led all scorers with 20 points.  He hit two treys. The Eagles had four scorers in double-digits.  Goodale was joined by Ty Johnson, Cooper Priggel and Langdon Scheeter, all three had 11 apiece.  Priggel had three threes and Johnson had two.  Scheeter had a team-high five rebounds and Johnson led the team with six assists.

Dane Shands scored five, including a triple.  Sam Shoemaker added four points to round out the scoring.

They were 6 of 11 from the line for 54.5%.  They were 16-27 from inside the arc for 59.3% and 8 of 17 from beyond for 47.1%.  The Eagles were outrebounded 20-18 but committed only eight turnovers while forcing 10.

Coach Joe Shoemaker told the blog, "I thought we played against a tough team and came out with a victory. We have some turnover problems to work on as we should have done a better job of taking care of the ball late in the game.  We will take Sunday to recover and prepare for Delta on Monday. "

Oran will next play Monday at 4;30 pm taking on Delta for the fifth-place trophy.  It will be a rematch of last year's fifth-place game.  The Eagles won that one, 72-53.

Oran is now 9-1,
