Eagles come up just short

The fifth-seed Oran Eagles took on a fourth-seeded Jackson Indian squad that not only hails from a much larger school but also puts on the floor a much taller team.  Oran led most of the way but fell late 50-48.

Tyson Goodale led all scorers with 20.  Ty Johnson had 13 including a pair of treys.  Langdon Scheeeter finished with eight.  Cooper Priggel had four and Dane Shands hit one from beyond the arc to account for his three points.  They were 11-17 from the line for 64.7%.  More stats will be added as they become available.

The Eagles were up nine, 35-26 with 5:27 left in the third, but couldn't hold on.

Coach Joe Shoemaker said, "I thought we played very well but just came up a little short in the end. I hope we just take this loss and learn from it. The toughest part about it is getting ready to play today."

The Eagles are now 8-1 and will face eighth-seeded Scott City, a team they beat 67-57 on the road two weeks ago. at 3 pm.
