Asst. Coach Amy Pobst said, "We played a good game for the most part. We started off with a few too many turnovers, but made adjustments and got more comfortable as the game went on.  We did a good job of driving to the goal and getting them to foul us. We recognized their mismatches well and took advantage.  Our girls are young and learning but if they keep working hard it will pay off. Grace did a great job with the two quarters we used her driving to the goal either scoring or drawing the foul.  Emma and Haley made good adjustments and handled the ball well as the game progressed. Traci and Hannah did a good job of posting up down low and Daley and Taylor came off the bench and played very good defense. "

In the nightcap, the game was pretty much decided in the first eight minutes as Oran trailed 18-2 after one and 32-11 at intermission, they never got closer than 15 the rest of the way an lost by 19, 56-37.

Kaylee Payne led the Eagles with 16 points, She hit three three-pointers.  Katie Webb had 12.

Taylor Lowe scored five, including a trey.  Grace Davis and Hope Woodfin each had a field goal to round out the scoring.

They were 11-15 from the line for 73.3% and saw their record fall to 18-4.

Pobst said, "1st quarter killed us. We committed way too many turnovers and shots weren’t falling for us whereas they were hitting everything they threw up. We started in a zone defense and they did a good job of moving the ball well and finding the open man. Offensively we didn’t take care of the ball. We weren’t moving well without the ball, weren’t coming to passes, and were forcing the ball. We made adjustments went to a man defense in the second quarter and things improved some. At the half, we were down by 21 and I challenged the players to forget the first half and just go out second half and play the best they could. I felt the second half was much better both offensively and defensively. We still have things to improve on but that is why we play these games is to find out where we need to improve. Especially in the second half we did a much better job of boxing out defensively and looking inside to Katie. I’m very proud of the girls and how they didn’t quit. They could have laid down after the first quarter but they never did and battled the rest of the game."

The Lady Eagles we be back at home on Monday.  They will host district-rival St. Vincent at 6 pm.  It will b
