Eagles Routed in Home Opener

The Oran Eagle Baseball team knew that they would have to be on top of their game today if they were going to compete with perennial power house and defending class 2 state champions Valle Catholic.  Unfortunately for the Eagles they were not able to do that and lost 11-0 in five innings to the Warriors.

Highlights were few and far between for Oran who fell behind 1-0 in the first and then allowed four more runs in each of the next two inning to trail 9-0 after three. The Eagles gave up single tallies in each of the last two innings for the final margin.

On the day Jacob Priggel had the only hit that Oran could muster, that was a one out single in the third.  He also had two assists from his center field position. Those plays help garner him the Bank of Advance Star of the Game.

Hunter Schlosser (0-1) took the loss on the mound going 2 and 2/3 innings allowing 9 runs (7 earned) on 6 hits, 4 walks, a hit batter.  He struck out 2. Freshman Layne Johnson pitched the final 2 and 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, he walked 1 and struck out 3 for the Eagles who now stand at 1-1 on the season.

Oran will host district foe Oak Ridge on Wednesday at 4 pm.
