Track Competes at Chaffee Open

The Oran High School Track & Field team competed in the Chaffee Open yesterday.  The girls finished third with 84 points, in the six team meet while the boys finished fourth with 49 .  Chaffee won the girls portion with 117 points while Malden claimed the boys team title with 207.

Leading the way on the girls side was senior Kaylen Glastetter as she finished first in the 100 m (13.15), second in the 200 m (30.57) and the 400 m (1:23.03).  She also claimed a first in the long jump(13-3).

Toni Hency took first in the shot put (33-0).

Cheyanne Dobbs claimed a second place finish in her first-ever meet in the 800 m (3:26.16).  Kenzie Graviett finished third, just behind Glastetter in the 400 m (1:25.75).

The 4X200 relay team of Glastetter, Anna Jones, Ashlyn McIntosh and Sydney Kern claimed first (2:00.62).  The 4X100 team of McIntosh, Jones, Kern and Graviett finished second (57.50).

On the boys side,  Bradley Brooks finished second in the 800 m (2:29.26).  He was followed by Alex Shoemaker who was making his track debut.  Shoemaker finished third in the 800 m (2:34.64).  Zak Johnson grabbed a third in 110 hurdles  (24.85).  Brett Ressel also was a third place finisher in both the long jump (18-4)and the triple jump (37-6).

The Eagles will next hit the track on the Thursday for their fist medal meet of the season in East Prairie starting at 4 pm
