Eagles Scalp Braves

The Oran Eagles baseball team won a 5 inning mercy rule shut out victory for the third game in a row today by defeating the Scott County Central Braves 10-0.

The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning when Thomas Trankler walked and Preston Hahn singled him over to third before stealing second base.  Then, with one out, Hunter Schlosser singled down the left field line to drive in both base runners.

In the second, Tanner McVay walked with one out, went to third on Trankler's
single and then scored on a wild pitch increasing the lead to 3-0.

The third inning saw a lead-off hit batsman, allowing Jacob Priggel to reach base, he stole second and then scored on Drew Reischman's one out single to right.  Oran led 4-0 after three.

The big inning was the 4th, however, as the Eagles tallied six as they sent 10 men to the plate.   Trankler and Schlosser each had an rbi double, while Priggel and Clay Sauceda picked up rbi singles.  Drew Reischman added an rbi ground out.

On the mound,  Schlosser, who was named the Bank of Advance star of the game, improved his record to 2-1, throwing a two hit shut out he struck out eight,walking one and hitting two.

Oran improved their record to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in conference, with their fourth straight victory.  They will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Charleston for a 6 pm start.
