Eagles Fall at Home

After seven straight road wins the Eagles took one on the chin at home today against the Sikeston Bulldogs.

Oran kept it close earley, trailing only 3-0 through four innings, but a six-run fifth inning put the game out of reach and the Eagles lost 9-4.

Thomas Trankler took the loss on the mound.  He went five innings, gave up nine runs but only five were earned on eight hits.  He walked four and struck out five.  His record in now 4-2.  Drew Reischman pitched the final two innings. He allowed three hits.  He struck out one and walked one.

Offensively, the Eagles were led by Bank of Advance star of the game, Jacob Priggel who drove in all four runs on a fifth inning grand slam. Priggel was two for three on the day to improve his team-leading batting average to .537.  He also is tops in RBIs with 27.

Oran is now 13-4 and will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Bell City for a 4 pm contest.
