Summer Hoops: Lady Eagle Style

The Oran Eagles girls' basketball team won't officially begin defending its' back to back district championship crowns until November 24th but this summer they are putting in the prep work required to be ready for a three-peat.

The team just returned from Arnold, Mo where they participated in the Licking  Summer Camp. The Eagles ended up winning their bracket with a 43-33 victory over Mahomet-Seymour, IL., a school with an enrollment of about 950 located near Champaign.  Oran also had victories over Ottumwa, IA, Poplar Bluff and St.Louis area schools, Ritenour and Visitation Academy.

Ashlyn McIntosh and Leah Cauble were both named to the All-Camp team.

Coach Ethan Evans said, "I was extremely proud of how hard the girls played, and the focus and toughness they displayed while playing schools much larger than we are."

Earlier this summer the Eagles participated in the the Park Hills Shoot-out and finished 4 - 2.
