Volleyball falls in season opener at Kennett

The Oran Eagles Volleyball team got off to a slow start tonight before losing a heart-breaker in 3 sets to conference foe Kennett.

After dropping the first set 25-12, the Eagles won the second 25-21 before falling just short in the third 25-23.

Cheyenne Dobbs had 3 aces, McKenzie Belt and Kaitlyn Wittu had 2 aces apiece. While Kenzie Graviett had an ace and a kill.

Brianna Stause had 2 kills and 2 blocks.  Jessie Long added a kill
and 2 blocks for Oran now 0-1.

Coach Monica Collier said, "The first set was rough, but we picked it up and played hard the next two sets."

The Junior Varsity lost in straight sets 18-25 and 7-25.

Both teams will be back in action next Monday when they travel to Oak Ridge for a 6 pm start.
