Varsity Volleyball Wins Again

The Oran High School varsity volleyball team won back-to-back matches for the first time this season with a three-set victory of Meadow Heights last night to improved to 5-7 overall.  After a series of injuries to start the year,
the team is starting to get healthy

Jessie Long recorded 6 kills for the Eagles. Brianna Stause had for in the 25-11, 22-25 and 25-16 match.

Cheyanne Dobbs and Kaitlyn Wittu had 3 aces and 2 kills apiece, while Kenzie Graviett also added a kill.

Coach Monica Collier had this to say after the game, "I am very proud of the girls. Overall, we played well. I thought we did an exceptional job at the net with hitting and placing the ball the first set. On the second set, Meadow Heights came back playing hard and did very well on offense. We played too safe that set. Our strategy for the 3rd set was to play hard, smart, and aggressive, and we did. We are continuing to grow as a team. We need to keep pushing ahead, and be fundamentally sound in our playing."

The junior varsity fell in straight sets, 11-25 and 19-25. They are now 2-5.

Oran will be back in action on Monday at 6 pm, when they host the Zalma Bulldogs a team they defeated during pool play during the recent Dig for Life Classic
