HSVB: Eagles sweep Blue Jays off the court

The Oran High School girls volleyball teams haven't had this much fun all year.
Jessie Long takes the set from
Kaitlyn Wittu for a kill

Not only did both teams win in straight sets for the first time all season but it was also Senior Night. Add to that, two of the seniors saw action for the first time this season as well and it was a night to be remembered.

Coach Monica Collier said, “Tonight was a special night.  It was our last regular season game, and fortunately, we got to have it at home.  I am proud of both the JV and varsity teams.  We took the win in 2 sets.  Our junior varsity team was excited to end their season with a win.  It was also senior night, so we honored our five seniors:  Ashlyn McIntosh, Emily Phillips, McKenzie Belt, Erin Schlitt, and Kaitlyn Wittu.  And we were able to play all of them, which was exciting because Ashlyn and Erin have been out all season due to injury, and they both played great.  The night was mainly about them because it was the last time those girls were going to play a high school volleyball game on our home court, and I’m thankful that all of them were able to play, and they had a great game.  We look forward to conference tournament coming up next week, and districts the week after that.”

The varsity won 25-15 and 25-8.
