In the first game the Eagles expanded it's 1 point lead at the end of quarter three into a 7 point victory, 30-23.
Ty Johnson had 13 points to lead Oran in scoring. Dane Shands had 8, Kaden Hargrove added 5. Keaton Stepp and Drew Smith both chipped in 2.
Fortunately for the Eagles, the game did not come down to a free-throw shooting contest as Oran was only able to connect on 2 for 13 for measly 15%.
In the night cap, the 8th grade jumped out to a 20-4 first quarter lead and never looked back enroute to a 60-28 victory.
Tyson Goodale led all scorers with 20, while Todd Priggel scored 19. Landon Stanberry had 8, Jakob Findley put in 7. Gabe Fox chipped in with 4. Tristen Schlosser and Kaiden Massey each tallied a point.
The older boys were 6 of 11 from the line for 55%.
After the game, Head Coach Joe Shoemaker said, "First, I was proud of the boys effort and attitude which are the two areas they can control. We left Oran wanting to improve and hopefully pick up a couple of wins. We did both and found some areas that we need to work on and improve during the next practice."
Both teams are 1-0 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to Zalma for a 6 pm tip-off.
