Volleyball swept by Saxony Lutheran

The Oran High School volleyball teams took it on the chin tonight losing in straight sets to the visiting Saxony Lutheran Crusaders.

The varsity fell 16-25 and 13-25.

Jessie Long had a kill and an ace.  Kenzie Graviett had 2 kills and Brianna Stause had 1.  Kaitlyn Wittu added an ace for the Eagles who are now 6-12.

After the game Coach Collier said this, “There were moments of greatness in the game against Saxony Lutheran.  Unfortunately, they were in spurts and not consistent throughout the game.  We have the capabilities to have won most of our games, but we lack in drive and competitiveness.  This is something that will probably come with time as the program grows.  I hope to come out against Charleston and see the girls play to their potential and dominate that game.”

The junior varsity lost 13-25 and 8-25.  They are now 4-7.

Both teams will close out their regular season at home tomorrow against the Blue Jays.  The game, which is Senior Night, will begin at 6 pm.
