The older team fell behind 14-5 after the first period, as they were only able to hit two fields, both by Max Priggel, including a trey, during the initial eight minutes.
Oran was able to double their output in the second but Saxony increased their's as well. The Eagles were down 36-20 at the break.
Things got no better in the second half as the class 3 Crusaders outscored Oran by 4 in each of the last two quarters for the 24 point win.
Jacob Shoemaker had 12 to lead the way for the Eagles, including two from beyond the arc. Priggel finished with 11. He had three treys.
Layne Johnson had 7, Cole Priggel added 5, including 3-4 from the line. Those were the only free throw attempts for the team.
Preston Hahn and Garrison Mangels scored two apiece.
Luke Barnes, Wyatt Kinney and Blake Schlitt all saw playing time but did not score.
Junior Varsity
In the opener, Oran was down 18-4 after one and 33-12 at the half.
The Eagles played Saxony even in the third but was outscored 15-10 in the fourth for the 26 point final margin.
Joey Phillips was Oran's top point producer with 9, he hit a three. Bradley Brooks added 6. Jon Shipley had 5 including one from beyond the arc. Peyton McVay chipped in 4, Denver Elfrink had 3 as did William Kluesner.
Avery Mitchem and Calen Read played but did not score.
The Eagles were on 6 of 20 from the line for 30%.
For the varsity, the loss snapped a four game winning streak. Their record is now 7-6. The jv fell to 2-6.
The teams will be back in action on Tuesday when they host conference foe Kelly at 6 pm.
