What's happenin' (2/29 - 3/5)

Post-season play continues for the Oran High School girls basketball team this week.  After claiming their third straight district title, the Eagles, now 23-3, will look for their first trip past the sectional round.

On Tuesday they will meet the Naylor Eagles in the sectional game at Bloomfield at 6 pm for the second consecutive year.  Naylor comes in with a 20-7 record. Last year Naylor defeated Oran 59-31.  Two years ago, when Oran was still class 2, they lost to the Shamrocks of New Haven 47-27.

If the Eagles can pick up the victory on Tuesday, they would play again on Saturday at 1 pm at Van Buren High school against the winner of Bunker and Bradleyville.

Also, this week practice for spring sports begins on Monday for baseball, softball and track.

Junior high girls volleyball has been practicing for a while now and their season will begin a week from Monday on March 7th.
