Eagles grab Scott-Miss honors

Eight Oran basketball players and one coach were honored last night during Scott-Mississippi All-Conference voting.

On the girls' side, the entire Eagles starting line up was named as well it's coach.

Freshman Leah Cauble was named player of the year.  Fellow freshman Jessie Long and Senior Ashlyn McIntosh were also named.  Senior Tatum May and junior Brianna Stause received honorable mention.

Head coach Ethan Evans was named Coach of the Year.

Cauble averaged 25.5 points per game hit 78.5% of her free throws and just under 5 assists per game.  Long averaged 9.9 points and 7.7 rebounds, while McIntosh hit 9.6 points and grabbed 6.7 boards. May scored at 4.9 clip and had 4.5 rebounds per game.  Stause averaged 9.1 points and led the team with 54 three-point shots made.

Coach Evans received his award for the second time in three years.  He has led his squad to a district championship three consecutive years.  He has compiled a record 55-21 during that time.

The team finished with it best record ever, 23-4.

From the boys' team, junior Max Priggel and freshman Jacob Shoemaker were named all-conference and sophomore Layne Johnson garnered honorable mention.

Priggel scored 16.3 ppg and hit 72% of his free throws and had 6.5 rebounds a game.  Shoemaker scored 14.1 points and hit a team high 55 from beyond the arc.  Johnson scored 11.7 a game and led the team with 7.6 boards each night.

The Eagles finished 15-14.
