The Oran junior high school girls volleyball team opened it's season with a three-set loss to Scott City tonight on the road.
The Eagles fell to the Rams 25-14, 21-25 and 10-15.
Heather Gosche and Samantha Welter had a pair of aces for Oran.
Coach Erika Hutchcraft said, "We started the game out a little timid, but ended up pulling it out in set 1. Scott City was on top of it the second set and we just weren't on our toes enough. The final set we started out slow again and just couldn't get it back. These girls have great drive and determination; I expect them to continue to work hard and improve as we progress through the season."
The Eagles will be back in action tomorrow evening at 6 pm when they host Cape Girardeau Central.
