Junior High girls defeat Blue Jays

The Oran Junior High School girls volleyball team picked up it's first win of the season with a three set victory over the Oak Ridge Blue Jays at home this evening.  The Eagles won the first 25-16, dropped the second 7-25 but then rebounded for a 25-6 in the third to secure the victory.

Heather Gosche and Kaylee Payne had 2 kills apiece.

Payne added 8 aces, Savannah Elfrink had 6, Gosche had 4.  Bailey Shipley chipped in 3 aces, Sam Welter added a pair, while Cami Cruz had 1.

Coach Hutchcraft said, "We ended up winning the first set, although it seemed like we were simply warming up.  The second set, we gave it to them without a fight. Finally, in the third set we seemed to play the way these girls are capable of doing.  I couldn't be happier with the outcome!"

Oran will be back in action when they travel to Sikeston on Wednesday.  Game time is 5 pm.
