What's happenin' (4/18 - 4/23)
Softball is heading down the home stretch and baseball is not far behind. After this week, the girls will have only one week left in the regular season, the boy will have three.
Games everyday this week through Saturday, except for Friday.
On Monday the boys (6-6 and 2-2) will host the Charleston Blue Jays (9-8, 2-1) at 4:30. The girls (5-4) will travel to Oak Ridge to take on the 4-5 Blue Jays, also at 4:30.
Baseball will play Tuesday at Saxony. The Crusaders enter the 4:30 contest with a 10-3 record.
Softball will play under the lights on Wednesday at Dexter (4-11). That game has been moved back to a 6:30 start.
Track is in the spotlight on Thurday as they will participate in the Dexter open starting at 4pm.
Friday, right now is free and clear, but if we get any rain outs early in the week expect that to be a makeup day.
Saturday is busy all day long as both the boys and the girls participate in tournaments.
Softball will have at least four games on the day when they play in the Scott City Softballfest.
In pool play, they will face the Malden GreenWave (9-0) at 8am, followed by an 11 am contest with a Bismarck Indian team whose MSHSAA page shows a 4-2 record. At 2 pm, the Eagles will have a rematch with 2 time defending state champion Kennett. The Indians defeated Oran 11-5 on April 5th. Depending upon the results of pool play. The Eagles will play one more game with the time and location to be determined. All three pool games will be played at the ball fields at the east end of town. There will be no admission charged for spectators.
The boy will have two games at the Notre Dame Classic. At 2 pm they will take on the Triad Knights out of Troy, Il. The Knights are currently 5-8. Then, at 6 pm, Oran will face the host Notre Dame Bulldogs. Notre Dame is currently 8-4. Admission is charged.
