Volleyball loses in three

The Oran High School girls volleyball team looked to be headed toward their second straight win to open the 2016 season.

They had just won a back and forth 25-21 first set over the visiting Oak Ridge Blue Jays and were within two points of taking the match up 23-16 when the bottom fell out.  The Eagles lost game 2, 25-23.  In game 3, Oran led 1-0 when the Blue Jays had a service error to open the game but never led again as they fell 25-15.

After the game, Coach Larry Boshell told the blog, ""A tough loss tonight.  As I told the team, we have to learn to win and when something bad happens we have to move on.  I thought we had times that we played well, but we couldn't stop the runs they had quick enough.  We still have a lot of season left to improve on that and I believe we can,  we just have to keep working.  We have a tough game on Tuesday (tonight) and will really be tested so I am hoping we come out and play well."

The Eagles are now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play.  They will face a very good Advance Hornets team tonight at 6 pm

The junior varsity lost in straight sets.  They are now 0-2,0-1 on the season.
