What's happenin' (8/22 - 8/27)

The new school year has started, so the new sports' year can not be far behind.

In fact, volleyball hits the floor on Monday when they host conference foe Kennett at 6 pm.  Last year the Indians won both contests. The Eagles fell 2-1 in the opener on the road in a heartbreaking 25-23 third set and both sets during pool play of the conference tournament at New Madrid County Central.  Oran ended up with an 8-15-2 record, Kennett was 9-17-2.

Fall baseball takes the field for the first of four games next week on Tuesday.  The team will travel to Senath-Hornersville for a 5 pm start.  Last year the Eagles claimed 4-1 victory.  Oran finshed the season at 6-2, the Lions were 14-3.

On Friday, the Eagles will host the Bulldogs of South Pemiscot at 4:30.  Oran won last year's game 12-2.  The 'dogs record was 9-8.

Saturday will feature at double-header at Gideon.  The Eagles will face the host squad at 11 am.  Gideon, also known as the Bulldogs, was 10-8 last fall. At 1 pm Oran will play Cooter.  The Wildcats were 14-9 during the fall of 2015.  This event was scheduled for last year too, but was rained out.
