JHGB Preview

The Oran Junior High School girls basketball team kicks off it's season tonight when they host conference foe Chaffee.

Last year's 7th grade team, this year's 8th, picked up a 32-13 road victory.  They finished 4-4 on the year, losing in the first round of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament.

Coach Ethan Evans had this to say, "The plan is to play 2 quarters of a 7th grade game and then a full 8th grade game.  We only have 3 eight graders, 3 seventh graders and 4 sixth graders on the team so we will have a lot of girls playing up a grade. If they can deal with the pressure of playing against girls that are older than they are, we can have a successful season because we have some talented players. I expect us to compete well in every game and hopefully come out on top more often than not."
