In the night cap, the Eagles held a slim 9-7 first quarter advantage, but used a 13-2 second quarter to extend the lead to 13. The Rebels outscored Oran in the 2nd half 28-22 but the Eagles were able to hang on.
Ty Johnson had a monster night with 26 points. He hit a trey and was 7-8 from the line. Kaleb Gosche scored 7, Dane Shands added 6 and Waylon Shaffer chipped in 5.
Drew Smith and Keaton Stepp played but neither scored.
The eight grade group hit 9 of their 12 free throws for 75%.
Afterwards, Head Coach Joe Shoemaker told the blog, "I thought both groups played very well. The 7th graders were able to bounce back and get a win in a half a game. The 8th grade played a very good first half but didn't play as well in the second half. They were able to get some late game experience and held on for the win."
The 7th grade is now 4-2 and the 8th is 5-1. Both teams will be back in action on Monday when they host the Advance Hornets at 6 pm.
