JV fall in Advance tourney

The fourth-seed Oran boys junior varsity basketball team took on the top-seeded East Prairie team last night in the quarterfinals of the Advance Junior Varsity Tournament.  The seeds held true and Oran came up on the short, 69-55.

The Eagles looked primed to earn the upset as they led 35-29 at the intermission, but a 23-7 East Prairie third quarter gave the favorites the lead and control.

Landon Stanberry led all scorers with 26.  He hit a trey and was 5 of 6 from the line.  Gabe Fox had 8, he hit both of his free throw attempts.  Tyson Goodale scored 7.  Calen Reed had 4,while Jakob Findley and Tristin Schlosser each added 3.  Schlosser's came on a three-pointer.  Both Avery Mitchem and Carson Moyers chipped in 2 apiece.

Oran was 8 for 11 from the charity stripe for 73%.

The are now 2-2 on the year and will be back in action tonight at home, along with the varsity, for a conference match up with those same East Prairie Eagles at 6 pm.
