The Oran High School volleyball teams split with the visiting Meadow Heights Panthers on Friday night. The junior varsity lost 17-25 and 20-25. They are now 5-7.
Savannah Below had four kills, a block and six digs. Kennedi McVay had a kill, three assists, three digs and an ace. Heather Gosche had three digs and a pair of aces. Paige Bradley had two kills, an assist and a dig. Megan Henson totaled two kills and three digs. Sam Welter added two assists and three assists.
The varsity pushed their mark to 10-9-1 with a 17-25, 25-14 & 25-18 win.
Coach Amy Wibbenmeyer said, "We came out slow and weren't talking the first set, but the second set we showed more enthusiasm and drive to win and our teamwork was the key component for us to pull the win out. The third set we started strong, let up a little in the middle but pulled that win out in the end. When the girls put their minds to it they do a Lou of great things."
Kaylee Payne slammed home 18 kills, nine digs, five blocks and four aces. Cassie Cochran dished out 25 assists and had two digs.
Kenzie Graviett had six kills, three blocks, three digs, an assist and an ace. Jessie Long had five kills, three blocks, three digs and an ace. Kaitlyn Streeter had a pair of kills, a block, an assist and an ace. Kamryn Graviett added two digs as well as an assist and an ace.
The teams will be back in action Monday evening at 6 pm when they host Saxony Lutheran. It will be a pink-up game.
