After soaring through pool play undefeated on Tuesday the Oran High School volleyball team lost in straight sets to Sikeston in bracket play at the Cape Girardeau Sportsplex last night. The Eagles lost 25-19 and 25-7 to put their mark at 15-11-1.
Coach Amy Wibbenmeyer remarked, "We did really well Tuesday night and pulled together as a team; playing the game the way the girls are capable of doing. The last game of the night got tough being worn out, but they pulled through. Last night after the first set we weren't us, didn't play the game as we can and it showed. Our focus now is on Districts."
The Eagles are the #4 seed in the upcoming district tournament and will face fifth-seeded Richland on Monday in Bernie at 4 pm.
