Last week the Oran Junior High School volleyball team played at Jackson on Tuesday and at Sikeston on Wednesday.
Coach Wibbenmeyer sent this information:
"Tuesday night:
We lost 11-25 and 11-25 to Jackson. We did really well in our warm-up so I thought we were going to go out more confident. But we didn’t. We went out acting like we were already beat and hanging out heads about it.
Hope ended the game with two aces. Most of their points came from our errors especially serve receive.
Wednesday night:
7th-grade game- 10-25 and 19-25. We came out flat-footed however, many of those girls had not touched a ball since the previous week because of Jr. Beta and FCCLA trips. The first game was a lot of our errors on serve receive and not talking. In the second game, we had many aces! Scarlett had three, Molly had two, Lily racked in five, and Braylyn added one.
8th-grade game
We lost 19-25 and 23-25. This is the first game the girls had worked together as a team. They are starting to put all of their individual skills together as one team and it so fun to watch them do that! Rylee, Hope, and Liza each had a kill. Grace had two kills and Laney and Liza both had 2 assists, and Hope added one. Liza and Rylee each had an ace. Hope added 5 aces."
The girls will host Charleston Tuesday night at 6 pm.
