Starting gun for track firing soon

The Oran High School track and field teams were originally slated to start their season next Tuesday at Chaffee, but concerns about the throwing pits have canceled that meet.  Now the Eagles will open next Thursday at the East Prairie Open.  It starts at 4 pm.

The teams are under new leadership this year.  Travis Friga has taken the helm.  He told the blog, "I’m excited to be coaching in my first season. I have a great group of kids who work hard. I think we can do great things and be competitive. A few athletes to watch for this year who had success last season are Savannah Below in the high jump, Tyson Goodale in the high jump and Langdon Scheeter in the 1600 meter."
