Basketball splits at Advance

The Oran Junior High School girls basketball teams traveled to Advance last night.  The seventh-grade took it on the chin, 45-5.

Bailey McCoy hit a trey, and Olivio Grisso made a field goal to account for the Eagle points.  They are now 3-3.

Coach Ethan Evans lamented, "We didn't do a good job offensively or defensively the whole game. We had way too many turnovers and allowed way too many easy shots."

The eighth-grade contest was a totally different story, Oran took that one, 43-12.

Addie Nichols finished with 22, including one from beyond the arc.

Braylynn Morgan had eight, Sophie Bryeans five, Scarlett Schlosser and Molly Spane had four each and Lily Knotts added two.  The older girls were 10-13 at the line, for 77% and improved to 7-0.

Evans said, "Our defensive effort was pretty good, but we are still making way too many silly turnovers on offense. Foul trouble is also plaguing us. We need to get more going on the offensive side of the ball."

The girls host Bloomfield this evening at 6 pm.
