SEMO tournament bracket play

On Thursday the Oran High School volleyball team participated in bracket play of the SEMO conference tournament at the SportsPlex. 

After going 4-4 during pool play on Tuesday, they entered Thursday as the South Division's third-seed and were pitted against the North's second-seed, Cape Central.  Cape won in two sets 25-8 and 15-25.

The Lady Eagles then moved on to an elimination contest against Kennett, who had won the South Division pool.  Kennett defeated Oran 26-24 and 25-12.

In the opener, Laney Shy had 10 assists and a dig.  Kaylee Payne had six kills and a block.  Savannah Below added a pair of kills and digs.  Kennedi McVay had the only ace.  Heather Gosche added a dig as well.

During the nightcap, Shy added seven more assists, a dig and an ace.  Payne had three kills, a dig and two blocks.  Below added two kills.  McVay chipped in a kill and a block.  Traci Hency had three kills and a dig for the Eagles whol will begin play in the distict tournament this evening at Advance starting at 6 pm when they face Zalma.  if they win they will play again at 8 and take on host Advance.
