OHS to Host Basketball Jamborees

Oran High School will host a basketball jamboree for both boys and girls on November 21.

The games will consist of 3 6 minute quarters with a 10 minute warm up and the schedule will be as follows:

Boys

5:00 Oran vs Leopold

5:30 Leopold vs Campbell

6:10 Oran vs Campbell

Girls

5:00 Oran vs Twin Rivers

5:30 Twin Rivers vs Greenville

6:10 Oran vs Greenville


Information from MSHSAA Basketball Manual:

These scrimmage sessions will allow: 1) officials training; 2) player evaluations in a game-type setting; and 3) game conditioning.

Each school will play a maximum of 36 minutes. Team scoring and team fouls will be kept on the scoreboard, and will be cleared after each 6:00 session.

Personal fouls will not accumulate or be tallied. Individual player scoring will not be recorded. Two time-outs per team per session; this will allow teaching and instruction to take place.

Each school will play 6 – 6:00 sessions;
Total of 36 minutes.

Teams may wear practice gear or game uniforms.

Admission will be host school’s choice. (Admission will be charged)
