JHBB Split in Advance

For the first time this season the Junior High Eagles felt the sting of defeat as the 7th grade team lost to the Advance Hornets 37-29.  Oran trailed 17-10 at halftime and 21-13 after 3.  The Eagles managed to cut the deficit to 4 late in the game but an Advance surge pushed the margin back to 8.

Oran was led by Tyson Loper's 14 points but the team was hurt by poor free throw shooting.  The Eagles made only 7 of 25 attempts from the charity stripe and were 0 for 8 in the first half.

The younger team is now 5-1 on the season.

Game 2 of the evening was a polar opposite of game 1.  In the nightcap, Oran led 22-2 after 1 and 46-4 after 2 on their way to a 61-4 victory.  Jacob Shoemaker scored 24 and Layne Robinson added 11 to lead the Eagles to their 6th straight victory.

Both teams will be back in action this evening as the travel to Scott City for a 6 pm conference battle.
