The Oran Lady Eagles split their games tonight at Marble Hill against the Woodland Cardinals.
Varsity Action: The varsity Lady Eagles came into tonight suffering through a four game losing streak with all those losses by less than 10 points.
Well, Oran ended that streak tonight by defeating the Lady Cardinals by a score of 40-29. The Eagles and Woodland actually each won two quarters. But when Oran won, they won big. The odd numbered periods were the Eagles as they outscored the Cardinals 13-1 and 8-0. Oran led 26-18 at the half and 34-18 after three enroute to the 11 point victory.
Ashlyn McIntosh and Brianna Stause each had 11 points to pace the Eagles. McIntosh recorded a double-double as she grabbed 11 rebounds, too. She also came up with four steals. Nine of Stause's points came from beyond the arc. Stause also dished out five assists.
Tatum May and Hannah Scherer both added 8 points for Oran who improved to 11-10 on the season.
Junior Varsity Action: The younger Eagles led 11-10 after the first period but after that is was all Woodland as Oran would only score nine points the rest of the game and was held scoreless in the fourth as the Cardinals cruised to a 61-20 victory.
Abby Essner scored seven to lead the jv in scoring. The Eagles now have a record of 3-7.
Upcoming Action: The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Thursday when they host conference foe East Prairie in a 6 pm match up.
