What's happenin' (5/8-5/13)

The baseball regular season will end this week and the post-season will begin.  Track and Field moves into the sectional weekend of its schedule.

On Monday, the baseball team (11-3) travels to Bell City to take on the 13-5 Cubs in what will most likely be a preview of the upcoming district tournament championship game.  Game time is 4 pm.  Last year the Eagles won the regular season meeting, but Bell City won the district title game on their way to their second straight Class 1 state championship.

Baseball will be back in action on Wednesday when big school Poplar Bluff comes to town for a 4 pm contest.  The Mules are 17-5 and just won the SEMO Conference Tournament.  Last year these two teams played what was classified a junior varsity game.

Three members of the Track and Field squads will travel to Lutheran North High School in St. Louis to compete in the Class 1 sectional on Saturday.  Savannah Below qualified for the High Jump, Bradley Brooks in the Long Jump and Madison Ramsey in the 1600 Meter Run.

Also on Saturday, the Class 1 District 2 baseball tournament will begin.  Oran is hosting and the second-seeded Eagles will face the seventh-seeded Richland Rebels at 2 pm.  The Rebels are presently 3-8.
