Volleyball Preview

The Oran High School volleyball team will hit the court for the first time Monday night, August 21st when they travel to conference foe Kennett for a 6 pm first serve.

This year's team will try to eclipse last year's 10-14-2 mark that included a first place conference tournament pool finish as well as a first place regular season standing in their division.  They also claimed a victory in the silver division of the Dig for Life tournament at the Show Me Center.  The 10 wins were the most in recent memory.

First-year head coach Amy Wibbenmeyer said, "We started off the summer strong! We hosted a camp for the JV and varsity teams here at school to work on all our fundamentals and push us to the next level. We also hosted a camp for little volleyball players K-8th grade. We had a good turnout for that and all the kids said how much they enjoyed it. We look forward to the season and hope to improve in many areas and push our team to have a better record and make it further in the post-season play."

She will be assisted by Larry Boshell.

The 2017 roster has 3 seniors, 5 juniors, 5 sophomores and 1 freshman including junior Jessie Long who was named to the SEMO South Division All Conference team as a sophomore last season.
