Boys split in road conference games

The Oran High School boys basketball teams split their first conference matchup last night on the road at Scott City.  The junior varsity fell 52-46, while the varsity picked up 64-48 win.

The younger Eagles led 15-8 after one but trailed 27-25 at the break.

Langdon Scheeter scored 12, tops for the team.  Ty Johnson and Cooper Priggel both scored 10.  Johnson hit two from beyond the arc.

Dane Shands and Cameron Westrich scored five apiece.  Kaiden Massey and Tristin Schlosser bucketed 2 points each.

The team was 10-14 at the free throw line for 71.4%

They are now 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the Scott-Miss.

They will be back in action this afternoon at 3:15 as the number-four seed in the Advance JV tournament.  The Eagles will face #5 seed, Bloomfield.

The varsity squad jumped out early and then used balanced scoring to pick up an 18 point win.

The Oran was on top of the Rams 13-6 after one and 25-11 at the half. They outscored their host by two in the final 16 minutes.

Todd Priggel led four Eagles in double-digits with 16.  Layne Johnson and Drew Reischman had 14 each.   Johnson hit two treys.  Jacob Shoemaker finished with 12.

Tyson Goodale had eight.

Oran hit 10 of 12 free throws for 83.3%.

The Eagles improved to 4-0 and 1-1.

The jv and varsity will be at East Prairie next Tuesday starting at 6 pm.
