Volleyball Falls to Bell City

Jessie Long kills the ball last night against Bell City.
It was a tough night for the Oran High School volleyball team as they fell in straight sets in the varsity only match against the Bell City Cubs, 10-25 and 22-25.

The Eagles were completely dominated in the first game but came out hot in game two.  Oran led 7-1 early in the second game and extended to 8-1 after a Cub time-out.  From that point on, however, Bell City outscored Oran 24-15 the rest of the way to claim the two set victory.

Coach Monica Collier said, "We started out the game not focused and we weren't ready to play. Bell City was and they controlled the first set. We made error after error both defensively and offensively. We started strong the second set with MacKenzie Graviett racking up several points in serves. We definitely played harder the second set, but Bell City had the momentum and confidence and they pulled out the win."

Graviett had an ace and a kill.  Jessie Long had 2 kills.  Cheyanne Dobbs and Kaitlyn Wittu had a kill apiece.

Oran, now 6-10, will be back in action at 6 pm on Friday when they host Bloomfield.
